Baowen Mai

Baowen Mai is a mixed media textile artist and storyteller.

Baowen Mai learned calligraphy in childhood, and she believes that traditional Chinese art has many parts that contemporary people deserve to learn. However, to break the original carrier of traditional art, Baowen Mai explores multiple combinations of different materials and hopes to develop and disseminate traditional Chinese culture through the creation of contemporary installations with a traditional Chinese artistic aesthetic.

Baowen Mai-statement

Based on the main concept of the equality of all things in Taoism, Baowen's work considers the relationship between humans and matter from a geological point of view.

By exploring and imagining the future existence of plastics, Baowen hopes to get rid of the way of thinking about human beings are the central or most important entity in the universe through her works.

Rethink "being" and redefine the relationship between humans and nature, between living and non-living things.
